About Retroactive Radio
Retroactive Radio is an online radio station operating out of Muncie, Indiana, programmed by Keith Kidd.
The radio station plays "top 40" hits from the 60's, the 70's and the 80's, with emphasis being placed on the 70's. The radio station covers all years
of all three decades, something most radio programmers would shy away from. Retroactive has many loyal listeners and is best known for playing
songs that have been out of sight and out of mind. Examples of such songs would be Scarlet & Blacks' "You Don't Know" and Robin McNamara's'
"Lay a Little Lovin' On Me". The station recently introduced the Mugwumps to their rotation, featuring Denny Doherty and Cass Elliot, a rarity in the
radio world at the moment. Retroactive does "the dosey doe" turning its listeners around by playing a classic country song primarily from the
mid to late 70's. This happens at least once every 2 hours. Again, a move that most radio programmers would shy away from, but makes sense to the
programming department of Retroactive. The Philosophy goes that "people who listen to Retroactive's main play list are more than likely people
that once enjoyed listening to their fair share of classic country hits. Rarely do drop outs happen while a classic country song is being played, as a
matter of fact some songs even get good rating scores" - Keith Kidd
The signature voice heard on Retroactive is former WNAP & WKLR Indianapolis
DJ Dennis Jon Bailey. Dennis Currently does mornings at 104.1 WIKY in Evansville, Indiana.
The Retroactive play list is continually being added too. It is projected that the radio station will have thousands of songs in the play list by the end of 2011.
Upcoming Plans:
The Retroactive station is currently working on licensing that will allow the station to do an "Original Q Morning ZOO tribute site located
within the pages of Retroactive. Once licensing issues are ironed out, the tribute will sport many hours of scoped and unscoped ZOO programming
from the years 1981 to 1990 at WRBQ Tampa, Florida.
